Live Cell Biobank

Validated early passage cell cultures from over 1,200 melanoma samples are currently available from the URPP biobank. These include lines from patients receiving the most advanced targeted inhibitors and immunotherapies. A subset of the cultures has been RNA-sequenced. The expression data from these cell lines are available on our cell line browser:

All melanomas are collected according to the approval of the ethics commission (EK No. 647/800), and following the guidelines of the Helsinki Declaration on Human Rights. In addition, the biobank includes archived plasma samples as well as frozen, paraffin-fixed, and some native tissues for approved research projects. These are all available for external researchers with the proper ethical permits, and can be obtained by contacting the head of the biobank. mitchell.levesque@usz.ch
